Tibetan monasteries are fortresses consisting of prayer and residential communal buildings. Tradition and spiritual beliefs determine the gorgeous, ornamentation and colorful archetecture

Buddhist monasteries in Tebet are beautifully built high in the hills, overlooking vast valleys. This one is reachable only by complex, precarious trails. Incredible.

A remote mining community was forcibly removed from their homes to make way for Chinese nationals who took over the mines. The new mining techniques poisoned the river the locals depended on, killing herds and humans alike. Poverty has since replaced prosperity. In the end, the Chinese never resided in the community, the residents still live in the tent city that arose nearby as a result of the eviction, and life has changed forever for the villagers. The children reflect their new reality yet embrace the peaceful, spiritual calm of their culture.
