My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My love for travel and photography started young growing up on a small island in Eastern Canada. I dreamed of places I had only seen in photographs and knew I needed to see the world with my own eyes. Since then I have visited numerous countries and can’t get enough. I believe my only travel essential is my camera.
I am a nurse and during nursing school we watching a video of a National Geographic photographer. I think the video was intended to teach us perspective while working with patients; however, I came away mesmerized by his ability to show different perspectives on film. My passion for photography grew tenfold that day.
After working for a few years I took a year off to travel abroad. I have only taken photographs for my personal use but dream of one day selling my prints. I came home from traveling more motivated then ever to take better pictures. I enlisted in an evening photography class for fun. I love nursing but often wonder if I chose the wrong career path since I know my heart belongs to travel and photography.
I’m adventurous, motivated and determined. This scholarship was definitely made for me!
