Ever since a child I have had an interest for the arts. My choice of media has changed through the years going from drawing to music and photography. I have always enjoyed taking pictures but I began to take it more seriously after taking my first photography class in high school. There began a love for the art of drawing, painting with light. Both of the classes I have taken were for black and white film photography. Because of this I learned to always aim for a perfect a picture as possible, since there was little one can fix after shooting. About a year ago I bought my first DSLR and have begun learning more about digital photography. Winning this scholarship will give me the opportunity to learn more about photography from a person that does it professionally. Not only will this scholarship provide me with with a wealth of knowledge but it will also give me the opportunity to see the world beyond the Americas. I have always wanted to travel but have never gotten further than Guadalajara, Jalisco. I believe photography allows the photographer to show the world how he sees it. Through my pictures I intend to show the beauty and greatness of the world that can be found everywhere.
