My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos
China-raised and Hong Kong educated, I am a person who is extremely passionate on nature, adventure, and photography.
I am always very keen to interact with people from different backgrounds, to experience different cultures and societies by photography, and particularly to explore traditions, nature and wildlife in different parts of the world. Indeed during my four-year university life, I have gain a variety of valuable opportunities, including exchange programs, internships, community service trips, and backpacked travels, to 25 countries in 6 continents.
I haven’t taken any professional photography course, but thanks to my sufficient international exposures, I think I have developed a great proficiency of shooting techniques and the patience to enjoy the process of awaiting a best shot. Personally I am in strong belief that a wonderful shot is a most common global expression that is able to convey its meaning to all nations, that’s why I always desire to further strengthen my photography skills with more adventurous travel experience.
The 5 photos I choose for this scholarship competition were taken in the world-end Antarctic this March. It was my honor to be selected as one out of 50 participants of the International Antarctic Expedition 2010. I put all my efforts in completing different tasks of expedition, as well as photographing wildlife and nature in the Antarctic so as to promote and call on global citizens’ awareness of environmental conservation. It was a lifetime experience to patiently await a perfect shot of either a small penguin jumping or a huge killer whale waving, and it was also my lifetime responsibility to further convey my witness and understandings.
I would greatly like to be granted this lifetime scholarship in assisting Jason Edwards and also being mentored to produce my meaningful photography of Bhutan and nature.
