Weaving the Wairua

Two waters and the mountain.

NEW ZEALAND | Monday, 25 May 2015 | Views [164] | Scholarship Entry

I walked up an amazing mountain today, Te Mata peak in Hawkes Bay. I am in love. He is a glorious old giant that held me and lifted me high into the heavens. Nestled at the bottom of the mountain is a grove of Redwood trees, I stopped in my tracks and was silenced, the ground was warm and I know in my heart I MUST take Willow there. From the mountain up its steep sides I saw such breath taking splendor that I would say this is one of my FAVOURITE short walks in New Zealand. I did the longest walk taking 2 hours. From the moment I could see the Tuki Tuki river I began singing to her… What a river. How can the people of Hawkes Bay let her be befouled? One day all will put to rights.

Tomorrow is Mount Arafat day, so I call a celebration to all mountains with special mention to the previous where Mohammed (peace be upon him and all who say his name) gave his farewell speech. Let freedom ring from the hill tops…
