We will soon do a quick write up on our last few days in Russia, also known as Being stuck in Irkutsk for a few days too many, or too few, depending on how you see things...
Right now we're close to being stuck in Ulanude... All trains and buses crossing the Mongolian border are sold out... We have however found a way out of this dilemma. Tomorrow morning we're going up really early to fight for seats in a mini van going to the border, leaving as soon as it's full - 'full' in the Asian sense of the word. Westerners would probably rather call it 'being so squashed into other people that the experience must be counted as a sexual one...'
Anyhoo... After crossing the border, we'll have to improvise a bit. Wish us luck!!!
Now we're off to enjoy a proper Russian homecooked meal - in our efforts to experience as much as possible, we ar trying a 'home-stay' in Ulanude, and have the lovely lady Olga cooking for us!
