Four flights I took to reach my destination in Texas... I spent the night in Las Vegas airport after missing my flight (not my fault) stupid airline put departure time on the boarding pass instead of boarding time like every other airline. I avoided the pokies in the airport. It was great to see Kristie again! We drove the two hours back to her place. It is a very...cozy studio apartment. Place is called College Station, the town revolves around the uni which Kristie is completing her masters at. Texas A&M. Not much for me to do here without a work visa but I have started to do a bit of volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity who build houses for the underprivellaged. Look out! they let me use the nail gun. Pretty nice houses they slap together actually. A week into my stay the two of us jumped on a plane and headed to South Carolina for her brother, Brandon's wedding. We were expecting a Star Wars spectacular as promised (Brandon is a Jedi) but it was not to be. He wore a Jedi outfit with a light sabre at his side, that was as far as it went, shame, perhaps the missus-to-be put her foot down. S. Carolina is lovely, we stayed in a hotel and rented a Pontiac Grand Prix to drive aroud in for the four days. We had a look at the aquarium and the beach was fun with Kristie's sister, Kim and her family. I found a mollusc and a hermit crab. The other day we visited the Renaisance Festival. We ate turkey legs and stuff like that and got a little drunk on mead (ye olde honey wine) and wandered around making fun of the crazy people dressed in period clothing and acting badly. There was jousting, elephant rides and all kids of cool stuff on an amazing site purpose built for thr festival every year. We also noticed that the carnival had come to town so we went and ate yucky sweet foods, rode rickety rides, played games and again, made fun of the carnies; there were some genuine carnies too, you know, the weird lookin ones. I'll stick some pics up soon. catch y'all later
