My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Italy | Sunday, December 2, 2012 | 5 photos

I’m a storyteller at heart and my eyes feel like the shutter of the camera. I see ‘decisive moments’ all around me constantly in everyday life, and I carry a camera with me at all times to be able to capture them as they happen. It’s the images that then help me tell the story as my own eyes, mind and heart experience it, in the moment that it happens, and as fate intends it to be. I currently have no professional status as a photographer in the sense of published work. I record and share what I see with others but live and work in the world of scientific discovery and development – and perhaps it’s because of this innate desire to discover why things are the way they are – that I’m able to see things the way I see them. I love to travel to different regions of the world – those that are covered in snow, and those by desert, those where the past meets the present, and those that are just a small number of miles away with something intriguing at the heart of them – each trip based around the desire to discover more about our humanity. Life on Bikes helps provide a frame of reference for this. These are the reasons I believe I’d be the right person for the World Nomads Scholarship.
