My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited, Fremantle, Western Australia

Back in July of 2008, At the ripe old age of 22, I started a career as a mining operator situated on a large mine site in the North West Pilbara in Western Australia. The first time I flew to site I could not get over how different the landscape was compared to the South West, from then on I fell in love with this untouched part of W.A. It never occured to me until a couple of years later to photgraph this harsh and rugged country to share with my friends and family, so I went out and bought myself a camera, and from then on my passion for photography grew. Since that time every opportunity I have had on break, I am out in the country air trying to capture that perfect shot of landscapes, sunsets and wildlife which are my biggest interest. Going to Oman would be a dream come true for me, not only to be in a completely different country photographing the different landscapes, wildlife, culture and people but also to be working along side a true professional like Jason. I am always striving to learn new techniques and tips in photography, so i think this would be the icing on the cake as far as learning from somebody else goes.
