At work the enormous headquarters of the many NGO's in Geneva dwarf the people occupying them, as here in the Palais des Nations, home of the UN.

Geneva's open spaces and many parks are popular, communal spaces, but at other times they are empty fields occupied only by distant passing figures.

In Geneva's old town the narrow, twisting corridors and alleys serve to quickly isolate you from the throngs of summer tourists.
