My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Spain | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

In the past few years Barcelona has been fighting for the Catalonia’s liberty and trying to be separated from Spain. This temperament and view as always fighting for something can be seen and felt in the new generations also. My series wants to show a rebellious ’way searching’ lifestyle in the 21th centuries Barcelona. These groups of youth are one of the biggest victims of the World Wide Crises which has a strong affect on Spain, but the more poorness is, the most they fight. These groups of people usually moneyless travellers, artists, jugglers who decided to create artistic communes and move into abandoned houses. As they move in they trying to restorat the whole building, repair the wires, canals, roof, and also a garden to grow some plants to eat and anything they need to create an inspirating place to do whatever they want. These communes works like big families, everyone is with the others not against. The problem is that they have so less money they cannot even purchase tools to repair the house. But luckily everyone has friends who can help a little so in the end they can built a cozy home from a ruined place but very slowly while they are living there inhuman circumstances . The prolem is if the government get to know about this, they will have to leave the place immediately. Usually in one year they have to leave thier ‘home’ and search for another house and than the whole thing starts from the beginning.
