Hidden wonders

from the moment you step off the plane you are hit with the humidity of central America, this small country in the middle on the Caribbean coast is a quiet wonder that needs to be explored. To go the to ruins is an adventure in itself as you drive through dirt roads and through thick jungle you could be mistaken for believing that you are discovering this wonder for the first time. The ruins aren't as manicured as the Mexican ones but there is hardly any tourist there too so the experience is very spiritual and quite humbling. The temples are there to be explored and once you have climbed to the top you get to see how hidden this city is by the jungle. amazing feeling to be there.
From the jungle you can then head out to the islands that are scattered across the coast of Belize. just one hour by boat out from the city and the water becomes crystal clear, enticing and the small atols are such a nice spot to just relax on a secluded beach or snorkel in the reef that circles the island. the islands them selfs are just a few small palm trees and white soft sand not much but they are a great escape for the day.
On the way back there is the opportunity to see the Manatee which is a quiet and shy but friendly sea creature.
All in all this is a place of contrast and wonder...that everyone should expeireince.
