Berlin, You're Peaceful Now

At school I gazed at the posters and textbook images, especially in my language and geography classes. They supplemented my learning by putting beautiful visuals to the knowledge being imparted.
With desire to work on location I had wanted to be a film director before taking a route in Fine Art. I used to think I was being lazy because using cameras is quicker than sketching, but being a photographer makes more sense to me.
Jason Edwards must get great pleasure from mentoring to do it annually with a stranger; I yearn for the opportunity to do him, the organisers and myself proud. My other influences are Susan Sontag, Ai Wei Wei, Man Ray, Sally Mann, Steve McCurry, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Henry Fox Talbot, Tim Hetherington, Lynn Johnson, Tim Page, Charles Gatewood, and Nan Goldin.
After being a volunteer at the Cultural Olympiad my taste of the outer world has been heightened. Involvement in the vibrancy of the festival, the mixture of cultures and bonding with the diverse visiting artists made me want it to be my daily life forever. Alas, it had to end, but I relish the thought of travelling the world to photograph adventures and the stimulating environments as my career.
