"Paj Ntaub" ---
I was interacting with the children in the village when I noticed this young girl completely immerse in her "paj ntaub", traditional Hmong embroidery. She would occasionally look up from her embroidery and then quickly return to making the next pattern. Hmong girls are usually taught "paj ntaub" at an early age. I remember when I was a little girl, my mother would force me to learn. Eventually I gave up the task because I would rather do things to be like other American children. Now, I don't even recall how to do a simple stitch pattern for "paj ntaub." I admired this young girl's patience and hard work to want to complete her beautiful design.
