lovely mandurah

AUSTRALIA | Wednesday, 11 March 2009 | Views [730]

Last weekend, we had the good fortune to be invited by our friend Julia down to her family's weekend house in the delightful town of Mandurah, about an hour south of Perth. Mandurah has a fantastic setting between the Indian Ocean, the Peel Inlet and the Harvey Estuary. The house sits right on the estuary and enjoys a wonderful view of blue water, pelicans and many other birds and ducks. We basically spent the weekend eating and drinking on the back deck while fighting off mosquitos. I also went crabbing. That's right - crabbing. I walked around in water up to my thighs, carrying a wire basket tied to a broom stick and trying to spot blue manna crab. I even caught two.

There are more photos in the "weekends" gallery.
