Perth has lots of beaches within its city limits, but Cottesloe Beach is probably the most picturesque. The water is a beautiful clear turquoise. The sand is light and soft. And it's the home of the Indiana Tea House, which is a gorgeous piece of architecture right on the water. (For Hollywood gossip fans, it was also the site of actor Heath Ledger's wake.) Its beauty also leads to it being extremely crowded on the weekends, and therefore not the best place to hang out, but it was very nice for a Ssaturday morning birthday stroll.
