I am a story teller and that is what I believe makes a good photographer. As a graphic designer, painting, drawing and photography have absorbed more hours of my life than I can count. Another enduring love of mine is to write. With an image as my muse, the story spills out onto the page.

Having spent half my life in South Africa, and half in Australia, I’m lucky to have two homes and two very different life experiences. This fuels my passion to travel. I love being consumed by different cultures, meeting the people, learning their customs. Travel photography and photojournalism overlap and I respect the responsibility that brings. A photographic image is compelling in its honesty and breaks language barriers. I would love to be a voice for those who need one and to ignite curiosity in those who need some!

I strive to improve my skills because of my desire to relay the emotion and story behind the moment and why it moved me. To freeze a moment in time is to create a history of shared experience. It would be an honour to be part of National Geographic’s world and to stand on the brink of the quirky corners and lesser-known regions of the planet...starting with Greenland!
