Stagnent in San Marcos

GUATEMALA | Sunday, 26 May 2013 | Views [252]

When stagnation sets in, and you're no longer learning new things about yourself and testing your limits, its time to get on the road again...

Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely beautiful here. Surrounded by Lake Atitlan, beautiful jungle and 3 volcanoes, its hard to imagine being anywhere else. But I have been here almost three weeks now, and although I feel I have been making good use of my time learning permaculture and yoga at the yoga forest I do feel that the time is coming in the next two weeks or so to hit the road and learn something new about myself, a feat which can only be accomplished when vulnerability takes over. I think maybe I'll go to Xela and learn spanish and/or volunteer with an NGO there. I eventually would like to make my way to Flores to see Tikal before heading across the border to Belize to scuba dive and fly home. I also think its important to get off the beaten track a little and experience some real Myan villages in the North to have a real experience and understanding of Gautemalan culture.
