Are we there yet? Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in you sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.---Mark Twain

Durham Cathedral

Durham Cathedral

Durham Cathedral was built in the 1093-1133 and with additions until 1490. It was built to house the relics of St cuthbert after the repeated viking attacks at Lindidfarne. It was named a world heritage site in 1986. Its been used in several films, including Harry Potter.

It is amazing to walk through and realize that this huge ornate building was done without power tools and cranes, but built by hand stone by stone. Its stain glass windows are a work of art. Pictures are not allowed inside the cathedral.
