My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Hola! I am a third year graphic design student with a passion for travel. I have only been overseas a handful of times but every time has been an truly amazing experience. The things you see and experience first hand and the relationships you make are things that are treasured for a lifetime.
My photos touch the surface of the people living on the streets and the environment which they live in. Locations are within cities that are filled with hundreds of people with these people hardly noticed. It was a challenge to travel to a larger country and realise how many people are living on the streets and how rough they have it. Within my images there is a contrast between the homeless and what would otherwise be a normal street/city scene. I have tried to show how these people live within a city and how they have become a part of the landscape.
The scholarship is a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel with an inspirational photographer and experience a magical world. It would be a learning curve and something I can share with family, friends and like-minded people; hopefully making a difference to the way they see the world. To me photography is a form of visually communicating a message in a simple, beautiful way. I am eager to learn, experience and fully immerse myself in others lifestyles, culture and world.
Thankyou for giving me this opportunity, all the best.
