The Peruvian Amazon

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited - The Peruvian Amazon

Small dugout canoes are the most common way to get around for people living in Peru's Amazon River region. Those who can afford it may have a small motor on a long shaft attached to their boats, if not, paddles do the job just fine. This woman carries a bag of orange tucuma, a popular snack of boiled palm tree fruit.
