My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Spain | Monday, October 11, 2010 | 5 photos
In 2009 I moved to Malaga, Spain to study Spanish. During the course of the year I discovered there was more to this city then what first meets the eye. A new found love and connection to the city and its inhabitants began to grow inside of me. This is a representation of what I believe the people of Malaga hold close to their hearts and have a true passion for. Some may think that food, football, the beach, La Feria & flamenco are quite simple pleasures, but to me, the passion, the acceptance, the coming together through these cultural experiences has been one of the most unforgettable times of my life.

1. Looking above the gritty, beautiful and fantastic city of Malaga
2. Typical supermarket displaying delicious Jamon
3. Attending a local women's football game where the Referee's decision was not quite welcomed
4. Usual summer day spent on the beaches of Malaga and the acceptance of everyone, no matter your shape or size.
5. Local Women dressed in their Flamenco attire in celebration of La Feria and the opportunity to dance in the streets.
Why should I be chosen? I am definitely an amateur; however the opportunity to be able to tell a story and show emotion or an experience through a photo no matter what the skill level is really makes me happy. To travel with and learn from a great photographer is a once in a lifetime opportunity. To learn not only how to take great photos but to relate with the subject and express this relationship to an audience would be an immense experience. Creating a story and a journey through photos and learning various skills along the way is all part of this enormous chance on offer. Choosing me would allow me to show my enthusiasm for not only photography but also travel.
