Amsterdam is a pretty small city, so we figured that today we'd just walk around a bit, maybe checkout a museum.

We went to the van gough museum, its really near the hostel, but the que was rediculous...out of the museum, all through the front garden on around the corner onto the street...bugger that, we'll try again on a weekday.

Instead we walked around updptown, all along the main street to downtown and the redlight district. Very pretty city, lots of canals and old buildings.

The redlight districs isnt even particularly bad (although we deliberatley didnt go at night time.)

There are loads of ''coffee shops'' which arent places to drink coffee at all, here it means place to buy and smoke marajuana. ''Cafes'' also arent places to have a coffee, they are bars.

We had a look at a supposedly famous coffee shop, its pretty crazy. You can buy joints, bags of weed, special varieties, magic mushrooms, space cakes, and its all just like a normal shop. They have a menu and a specials board and everything. We decided not to purchase anything, and went to a starbucks for a real coffee instead.

We've got a hard rock cafe over the road from us so we'll probably grab dinner there, sam's wanted to go to one for ages. We're both pretty tired after 71 days so will prob have a quiet night.

We got given pub crawl vouchers last night...but ive done about as many pub crawls as a man can handle, so im definatley not doing one in amsterdam.
