Luang Prabang and Journey

I don't know how to start other than saying I am blessed. -And that we
are all blessed when we truly believe in life and ourselves.

I'm going to try not to give too many details or else this story will
be super long.
To start, about 5 days ago Dave and I split up for an unspecified
amount of time, to give ourselves a break. I was such a lucky girl to
have been able to stay with a couple of friends who were renting a
place in Pai. We bought fresh food at the market and made dinners
together and watched movies. I couldn't have asked for more in that
situation - having had a cold, and being quite sad at leaving David,
They made me feel so close to home. =)

After 2 Days with the couple - Sara and Michael, I booked my trip to
Luang Prabang, Laos. I bought a package that provided a bus to Chiang
mai and then  the border, dinner, one night in a guesthouse, and a bus
ride to Luang Prabang. On the bus to Chaing Mai, I could again not ask
for more. It was NOT packed, Everyone had enough room and I even got a
window aeatr with a spare seat beside me. So nice, There was a sweet
Thai lady and her child, an older Canadian with his lady friend, a
Swedish guy, and two German girls, all very friendly. At a rest stop
the Canadian man talked to me about all the places we want to go, and
it was really inspiring. After Chiang Mai there was a switch of busses
and that is when I made friends with the 2 German girls, 2 older
French men, and the Swedish guy. We all got along great. And
eventually when we got to the border we all had dinner together and
they convinced me to switch my bus ticket for a slow boat tickets. So
I did! we then had a couple drinks and went to bed early for our big
next day. The 'complimentary' guesthouse was OK, like the
'complimentary' food'. There were spider eggs everywhere, cement floor
and NO WINDOWS. I cried qhen i first saw it because I was so lonely
and missing Dave and wishing he could be there with me. But after my
night with my new friends I felt a lot better. - I ended up just
sleeping with the lights on and slept fine - aside from some Drunk
screaming around 2 am, and the roosters cockadoodle-ing at 3:30!!! -
Ok, to be honest, i got a terrible sleep, but for some reason I didn't mind too much.
The next morning we all met at 7:30 and had an OK breakfast, and then headed to the border. This border crossing was a lot of fun! We got our Thai Departure stamps on one side of the river, and and boated across the river and Did our Loas paper work on that side.

Let me be honest right now, I really want to update right now because I want my freinds and family to know where I'm at, But Im feeling really, really sad right now, and I'm hurting, so its really hard to write all the great stuff I want to write and go into detail.

The boat ride was so much fun and such an experience but I just don't have the spirit to go into it right now. So I will make a boat entry later.

Luang Prabang, Laos, is absolutely beautiful. It already is one of my favorite places I've been so far, and definitly the place  I'd like to take my mum the most, she would LOVE it. Beautiful french buildings everywhere, cobblestone streets, art gallerys, bakery's, beautiful rivers and pathways and nature. It's SO great. And its a shame I have to feel so sad right now and I feel like a lousy brat.

Will write more later and hopeflly add photos one of these days

Luang Prabrang sounds lovely. I'll have to look in to it's history. Immerse yourself in the now. Start taking lots of pictures and do some more writing. Find some birds for me and describe them. Take pictures of the goodies at the bakery and have a treat there and take a picture of yourself biting into the soft delicious pastery for me.

Love you Landon!
