Caves and Monkies!

Wow, like I've sort of said before. everyday is such an adventure and has so many stories that i always feel a bit overwhlmed when i come to update, so again, I'll just have to stick to a few main stories.

Everytime I swim in the ocean (in Canada too! i get get a feeling that is among the best feeling I can get! I feel like i want to devote my life to it, but no carreer wise, not scientifically or for a saving cause. i just want to wake up everyday and walk into the ocean and praise it, do a dance for it, and swim and hug it. I must live right next to the sea some day, not that i`m very far away now. I think the sea and hot sunshine have a magical effect.

Ok, Sooo, the other day Dave, Alex and I decided to go look at the two caves on this island. Hahah the first day we tried it took us a long time to get out there, missing turns and stuff, AND THEN Our motorbike got a flat tire! Jeeze! so by the time we had gotten that fixed we didn`t want to go that afternoon anymore... just went to the beach instead. Next day though we did it. We skipped the first Cave cause they were charging us to have a tour guide, and also, they wanted us to come back in a couple hours anyways, so we just desided to do the other one. The other one was called Tiger cave. First you follow the main road there, and then eventually onto an orange dirt road. the organge dirty roads had beautiful scenery! Many local houses, cows, goats chickens, local children running around, and beautiful groves of trees. When we got closer to the cave we had to park our bikes, and then it was a 30 minute walk throught a trail in the jungle. I`ve never actually walked through jungle before! How amazing! It was soo humid, It reminded me of any fun nature walk, but so, so much hotter, and all the plants and sounds were so much more exotic, beeeeautiful butterflies too. The trail was there but often wed have to cross a small stream, and then try to find the trail again. It was a lot of fun, I knew beforehand that the walk itself would be worth it, as i don`t fancy caves that much. Ha.
When we finally got to  the cave I was a bit relived, it was mostly cool climbing rock that stood above ground, it wasn`t immediately a black hole as I had imagined. It was really neat, there was old wodden ladders placed everyhwere you might want to climb to. We first climbed down, but it wasn`t underground, it was just down, but we could still see the sky above us. (sidde note, I hate dark closed in spaces, so this event although small to dave and alex, was pretty scary for me, i wasn`t going to go in the small spaces, but «i was also a little anxious to be left behind, in the jungle) Anyway I was able to go most places as there seemed to always be holes with sùnlight coming through. at one point Alex and Dave dissapeared into a black hole =( dave came out soonafter, but alex was gone for a good 20 minutes. It makes me nervous. I`ve always had dreams about being stuck in small places, and not being able to move backwards, so i could never follow them, but, I figure the more I follow along and go at my own pace, the more i`ll be able to try next time. =) After the cave we went for rides, and swims and dinners, and showers! So dirty and sweaty.
Yesterday was Alex`s last day on the island, he was catching a ferry at 1:30 so we had to do something that wouldn`t last all day. We found ourselves at a big area of mangroves. I don`t know what the right term is, mangrove field... Anyway they are beautiful trees  that grow in sea water, and there are forests of them! growing out of the ocean. We payed to be taken on a longtail boat and we boated throught the maizes of trees! I felt like there should be crocs and hippos! Our tour guide soon chopped up a pinnapple and we pulled up to a large section of trees. I was expecting a few monkeys, there were DOZENS and dozens! And they were swarming towards us. At very first I thought `` i hate them`` but then I saw the smaller ones and the babies and I decided i did sort of like them, at least these ones! We fed them the pinnapples, some right out of our hands,  they were  very, very cute. So sweet! some of them swam in the ocean. And yes they did remind me of hairy small people. I can`t wait to post pictures. After the monkies we sailed around a bit more, the tour guide showed us fishing traps and birdies and other thiiiings.

We are in koh Lanta for 2 more days, then we are heading to Koh Phi Phi for another 2 days, this is a small island where you just walk to get around, it<s very beautiful, the movie ``The Beach`` was filmed there, and to young people it`s a party island, so i`m looking forward, Dave and i havn`t partied since we`ve been here, so we will rent a beach hut and drink for 2 days. =p Get it out of our system, then we are heading to Phucket for dave to see a diving specialst doctor, then we can find out for sure if he will be safe diving and he will get a note from the doctor. After a day in Phuket we are heading a bit more north to Phetachaburi. This is an ancient city with fine and ancient temples, but also still has the beautiful beaches. We<ll stay here a couple more days then travel along the coast to Chon Buri - this is supossed to be a place the locals love to go on vacations, it supossedly offeres EVERYTHING a vacationer might want, and it`s in another beautiful beach area. So depending on how much we like this we will stay 4 days to a week. If we leave early we are checking out a small  fishing down, if not, we are heading to cambodia! Either way, we`ll be in Cambodia by`early Febuary. We may check out some beaches there, but will for sure fo to the major city Phnom Penh, and then up to the very famous Angkor Watt for about a week. After that has not been planned yet, but it will eventually be central and northern Thailand, and Loas. I`m really excited! Anyway It<s been hard to get photos loaded, but they will come soon, a day or two. Bye!
