My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

On a recent adventure through Central and South America I visited Lake Titicaca. The Lake is a central part of life in the area between Bolivia and Peru. The seemingly desolate surrounds of the Lake come alive with the colours of the water and the people (their dress and disposition). I found that the locals live in a cohesive mix of 'old' and 'new', and it somehow works. Tourism is a huge part of the economy, but so are 'everyday' jobs such as fishing.
I love travelling and taking photos, I would love to do a lot more of both (with better photographic equipment and knowledge). Experiencing differnet cultures, tasting new foods and meeting new people is so important to me - I beleive it is the best way to learn about the world we live in.
I hope to never stop learning.
