The rope pulling the 1300 m string from the lake must be "securely" kept on the cogwheel while recovering the instruments.

The moored instruments monitoring the lake are attached to a string of 1300 m length. A buoy is holding the string straight up in the water and it is the first part of the equipment that is recovered on the surface.
