Celebrating cultures
To travel is not only about seeing exotic places or taking photos of famous landmarks, it should also be about experiencing and exploring different cultures.
About laetitia
Observe, understand and capture. This is how I experience every day life. By looking around me, I can see so many stories being told in people's faces and day-to-day activities.
I'm a professional journalist and amateur photographer. With both skills I try to tell the stories of other people's lives and about what matters to them.
The written word has the might of a sword, but a picture can tell a thousand stories. I believe solemnly in both mediums, but I have experienced that words can be manupilated and written to suit reality. Photographs on the other hand are true, unless you use photoshop to add in your uncle who could not attend the family reunion. Otherwise, photographs do not lie. Newspaper articles can paint the picture of a country striving above the rest, having a rich culture and successful economy. Photographs, on the other hand will show how people live in poverty. Yet, it is important to remeber the context in which something was written or photographed.
To sum it up, I love stories and telling them, either through words or photographs. Travel enriches my soul and shapes my character. And by sharing my experiences I hope to inspire other travellers as well.
