My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Vietnam | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 | flickr photos

It was in high school I first grew partial to photography after entering the class as a sort of "easy" class to pass the time. However i got more than a bargained for and fell in love with it. We had the absolute privilege of having a dark room where we would develop all our work, mind you this is only 2008 so a darkroom was considered old technology to most of us used to already using digital.

I received my first dSLR as a Christmas present from my parents and i was over the moon, i could finally start taking photos like I'd seen in Nat Geo's for so long. However i was still partial to my mothers old Canon AE-2 and since grown a small collection of film SLR's I use regularly.

I've gone onto complete a Diploma in Film and screen in 2009, in which I very much enjoyed the photography lessons in which we were to understand how film worked in a more in depth understanding. It was that aspect of the course that has made me join a university course starting next year for a Bachelor of Photography.

I hope to use the knowledge I gain in this course and my passion for travel to earn a living in a the only career i can see myself enjoying, Travel Photography.
