My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Thursday, October 6, 2011 | 5 photos

My name is Kyle, I am an amateur landscape photographer, my mission is to find an abstract or beautiful aspect of the real life we live in, and around. I have advanced over the past year and try to find an interesting angle, a different perspective from the norm, just so I can have a picture that is completely unique, that no one has ever taken before, just to differ myself from other photographers, through the use of my equipment, the use of different settings and unique or unappreciated subjects. I shoot in and around Brisbane, Australia, this city is bland, uninteresting, overdeveloped and overurbanised, the landscapes are more urban then natural, and to capture anything remotely natural you need to travel away from the city centre, east to the sea, west to the mountains, north or south to the coasts, where there are more appreciated natural landscapes. Photography to me is simply finding a way to take a picture that will mean something to m, that will represent a memory, a moment in time that will never happen again, and then sharing it, so that not only everyone else can enjoy it, ut I can get a well deserved sense of pride. I would like to go on this expedition to achieve that largely illusive picture that will define my career, I may have already taken it, but unless the opportunity presents itself I will never know, i would like this opportunity to take advantage of the scenery, so that not only I can be proud of myself, but also national geographic as an entity can also be proud that they chose me as their scholarship winner, if I am chosen I promise to chase that picture, no matter how many attempts it takes, no matter what time it will be and no matter how dangerous the situation, my personal philosophy is; risk it to get the biscuit, and I intend to deliver.
