My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

There is a fine line between the man and the tool. One has the vision, the other has the power to make it happen, to give the light it needs to be shown. I was never good at drawing and surely I'm no good at painting. The camera was the only tool I learned to use well enough to bring life to my thoughts.
I could have let my thoughts, ideas and dreams fade in the dust of memory and time. After all, I was raised in an analytical background, surrounded by complex mathematical formulas and refined programming algorithms. I was tailored to be an engineer. Yes.. I was. But life gave me a heart and a soul bigger than the mind. I always thought with the first and mildly reasoned with the last.
Story tells that those who can touch the heart of another will be part of the thread that sews the cloth representing the meaning of life. The more hearts we touch, the bigger the cloth... the bigger the cloth, the bigger the enlightenment of what we are, and what we do. Since my personal story is not something to be touched for, I learned to reach the heart of people by telling the story of others. Whether it's about people or a place, my photography is always a story about life.. and vision.
