My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Though it may be a weird way to start my autobiography, but before we talk about photography I’d like to talk about Scouting. To me, scouting is not only a passion but also an attitude. So what’s the attitude a scout should uphold? To me, it’s the willingness to know the world we live in.
But is the perception over other culture that most people acquire always right? I think that this is an issue that we all should think about again. Some say “to see is to believe” but seeing is may not be enough. I’ll say, to understand is the true spirit. We’re use to judge others on our own point of view without understanding their culture and religion, therefore conflicts arise. I believe that the key to understanding it is to set a new point of view. Try and live the way others do. That’s why, if possible, I’m eager to see them with my very own eyes, take part in their traditional celebration and experience a whole new way of living.
My camera is my extra pair of eyes. Through these, I want to tell the story, the story about how others live their life, how others praise their god and even how others fight through bad days. I want to bring their true world to everyone's eyes.
