My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Sunday, December 2, 2012 | 4 photos
At 21 years old I have lived my life on our family farm in rural Australia. I am so lucky to be constantly surrounded by nature and the ever-changing environment. I started taking photos when I was 13yrs old. My mum had just brought me my first digital camera. Every afternoon you would find me stalking sheep or chasing the perfect sunset. My love for animals and photography grew and I won my first photography competition when I was 14 years old. For my 18th birthday my mum brought me my first digital SLR, from dogs to sheep, to floods to fire I captured it all from where I live. I am always finding myself stopping for that perfect photo even if it’s just on my iphone. In 2010 I started my career as a receptionist. Although my full time job takes up most of my time, I still make sure I don’t lose that passion to stop for that perfect sunset. I have been taking photos for 8 years now but I still feel as though I’m still that amateur 13 year old who is still learning and am equally amazed at how beautiful this world is and how many great photo opportunities there is right at my own door step.
