My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

The expression “walk a mile in someone else shoes” can be very difficult to follow through with, considering that most people are very sensitive about sharing their shoes, and of course the wide variety of sizes, but photography provides an alternative to this concept. A picture has the power to reveal hidden emotions, tell a story, briefly stop time, and most importantly be shared with the world. Being a person who wants to make a difference, I hope to share moments and stories from around the world, with hopes of making this vast globe seem a little bit smaller. I might not be the most experienced photographer, but I do understand the impact of a photograph and the experiences that happen on the other side of the lens. I love people and there is nothing I would rather do than have the chance to tell their story, and try my best to walk a mile or two in their shoes. Winning this contest would give me the experience of a lifetime, and if I were to win I would take in in every second, and hopefully leave not only becoming a better photographer, but a more socially aware person with some amazing moments to share with those who were not able to have the same incredible opportunity.
