Documentary Scholarship 2011 entry

WORLDWIDE | Thursday, 16 June 2011 | Views [220] | Scholarship Entry

My passion for documentary making started long before my college life. I spent my childhood glued to television screen watching Nat Geo documentaries. I was amazed to find a depth of historic and geographic information combined with breath-taking shots from around the world, from tiny ants to vast landscapes, from beautiful portraitures to massive architecture! I longed to enter into this engaging art from, considering my lust for travelling and art. Back then it was not easy to have an expensive gear to start from, but I managed a second hand Sony DV and started making videos of flowers, kites, skies, butterflies and every beautiful thing I found in my vicinity. Never being satisfied with what I had produced thus, and always willing to venture into new techs and tips to improve my skills, I always wanted the viewer to feel what I felt, to be able to reach out and touch the subject. I took Communication sciences and Media Studies as my college major and further pursued my passion in variety of courses. Currently I am working as a Radio DJ and Voice Over artist in a production house. This scholarship is everything that I can dream of.
