Unfortunately for far too much young people, leaving Senegal at any cost is still the easiest way to survive. Many have set their hope beyond the sea. A lot of these young people do not hesitate to embark on the long and deadly journey by canoe to Europa with the slogan in Wolof : "Barca or Barzakh" – “Barcelona or death”.
