My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a 26 year old with a passion for photography, conservation, and heritage. Sparked by my late father’s own adventures around the world in his youth I too set off on my own adventure to Portugal to find out more about my roots.
Having grown up in Australia and never known my family I had an overwhelming urge to explore, learn and document my journey for my brother back home and my love for photography was born. On returning home I enrolled in photography courses and my camera has now become an extension of my arm. I am always striving for a better shot weather I end up covered in mud, laying in rotting kangaroo carcass or high up on a freezing mountain top I am never happier than when I have my camera in hand.
I am now ready to join together my Environmental degree with my love of photography to fulfil a passionate dream to share with the world inspiring and moving images together with stories of amazing places, distant cultures and ways of life different to our own. Given the opportunity to become Jason Edward's shadow would be a once in a life time experience I would make the most of as a launch pad for what I hope to be the start of my life as a professional photographer.
