Winning this scholarship would mean the world to both Ashleigh and I. We are incredibly keen amateurs, and want to be able to film everything that we can! We are incredibly passionate and adore film making. We frequently are out exploring around New Zealand with our cameras, in order to broaden our horizons and capture some of the beautiful elements of the world we live in.
In past, we have filmed events for the European Union at the University of Canterbury, gotten projects from outside companies (such as the Gelita Gelatine company and the Canterbury Refugee Council), and have even edited together documentaries, for restaurants and organisations, one for the Refugee Council in particular was shown on our local television station! We also have a slot on our local radio station, RDU 98.5, which has given us so much confidence in presenting and public speaking.
Winning this scholarship would be such an exciting opportunity for both of us, we love being able to see and capture beautiful moments that occur in the world. If we received this scholarship, this would mean such a change in culture and climate for us! Mexico is such a dramatic change in culture and lifestyle, and we are incredibly excited to one day capture its beauty. We are highly ambitious, and hope to work within the media industry, working with television and film, capturing so many scenic and exciting shots, and this scholarship would prove to be incredibly valuable.
