Photography Scholarship 2011

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 15, 2011 | 5 photos

Each and every day, I hear the shutter click inside my head. I am walking through the forest with my students and see the perfect composition and click. I may not have my camera readily available as I teach, but I am always photographing the world with each step I take. I chose my career as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher because I knew it would be a consistant job that would allow me to travel and photograph the beauty of the world. Would I prefer to be a professional photographer, yes. As the wife of a musician, I do feel that it is difficult to have two artists in the same household and pay the rent. And for this reason, I take any opportunity I can get to learn, to become more accomplished, and to perhaps get closer to a possible reality of also being a professional artist. If I were able to spend time with Jason Edwards, I would give him little time to rest. I would want to know every aspect of life in the world of photography. I would love a mentor to teach me better technique, give me constructive criticism, and answer my abuntant questions concerning how on earth one can actually survive as a professional photographer. Thank you for allowing many people around the world to dream of this chance and for giving one person the opportunity to live it.
