A Proud day in San Francisco

My first exposure to capturing images was with a Super 8 at the age of 7. I was fascinated to figure out how it worked and what I could produce with it. At first the films were crude, the family dog or my friends goofing off but with time I told a more structured story with the lense. I was given a still camera for my birthday soon after and began to tell a story through the still image.
Photography has been my way of capturing a moment in time and saving it to be interpreted later, to decipher the world around me. Photography has accompanied me on my travels enabling me to keep a piece of that place and moment in time. A photo is a record of an experience, place and the accompanying emotion.
With this opportunity and with Jason's guidance I hope to improve my technical skill and hone my eye to capture the story of a place, to be able to shoot a picture that the viewer can look at and make an interpretation of what is going on in it. We all have a desire to explore and impart our experience of the world around us. I want to be able delve into the soul of a place and convey its essence to people through travel photography and to have a career that will allow me to do so.
