I ran my stubby fingers over a glossy page of National Geographic and stopped on a photo of an elephant painted with brilliant, exotic colors. “I want to go there.” By the tender age of three, I had already caught the travel bug. At 17 I became one of the first of my extended family to venture outside of North America. My dream is to wander the world and share what I encounter with others. “For pleasure has no relish unless we share it,” said Virginia Woolf. Many people from my small hometown in Canada’s North are quick to tell me the challenges and perils of becoming a travel writer, but I still desire it–maybe more because of that. I enjoy a good challenge. I studied the fundamentals of journalism at college in Canada, but didn’t receive much encouragement there for my travel writing aspirations. I craved travel and recently transferred my studies to Australia. I'm a student of the world and a hopeless wanderer.
