    One of many monuments scattered throughout the Kuril Islands that remind those who visit of the lives lost during World War II and the bloody battles between the Japanese and the Soviets. Its used-by date long passed, it now passes time overlooking one of the many volcanos found in the Kuril Island chain. Smoking around fuel being pumped to the submarines at the floating docks would have been hazardous to one's health. Simushir Island, Russian Far East by: khylsty Views[256] Long forgotten, the remnants of this floating submarine dock will soon be lost to nature.
