A coastal B.C. native, I spent the last six years earning a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Victoria. Now, mid-way through an open ended backpacking trip from Brisbane to New York, I’m off to study the chemistry between people and the world they inhabit.
Through my six years as a student, I supplemented my studies with writing and photography and grew an affinity for multi-media story-telling and D.I.Y. journalism. My writing or photography has appeared in such publications as Decline Magazine, Exclaim.ca!, CVV Magazine, Renegade Radio (now Feedback) and Grayowl Point. From 2010-2012 I co-ran an online arts and culture publication with a talented local writer, Grady Mitchell, called Mosaic. I’d eventually like to return home to a writing or photography gig in the magazine industry — ideally both. A lot is up in the air right now. All I know is that I plan to keep exploring.
