The last Cowboys of the Las Pampas Argentinas

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Argentina | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos

Eat life.
I travelled Latin America alone, just me and my camera. Jumping on backs of motorbikes, staying in slums and dancing salsa with old Colombians. Never opening a guidebook, just finding my way through my love of people, eating and dancing. It was an amazing opportunity to photograph other cultures and a pleasure to share these insights with others.
I’m a producer but my lust and desire is for travel photography, it’s when I feel most alive. I have a MFA, and I am drawn to photojournalism and how it connects people. A great photograph can introduce difference, stimulate intrigue and a longing to learn about other places. My camera is my excuse to get involved and sometimes to stand back observing those beautiful moments.

It’d blow my mind to have the opportunity to help Jason on this adventure. I want to learn not only about rugged Greenland but also from Jason’s wealth of knowledge and experience whilst developing my own photographic techniques (greater awareness of subject, light and composition). I’m very patient, helpful and extremely focused. I want to learn to give more strength to my work, making powerful photography that resonates with people and makes them think.
