Kellie Holway is from North Brookfield, Massachusetts where she started writing stories at a young age. She has lived in many places in the US as well as in Japan. In her ten years living overseas, Japanese culture proved to be an interesting creative catalyst for writing. Kellie currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
I started cooking and baking with my mother since the time I could grip a spoon. Cooking has kept me happy over the years, through tears and good times, breakups with boyfriends and celebrations with good friends. While I was living in Japan, I was able to experiment with different ingredients and try new combinations more than I would, had I everything I need on hand. Friends in Japan, especially in Kyushu, were amazing and gave me so much inspiration. Whether picking fiddlehead ferns together, rolling out homemade pizza dough, or just welcoming me into their kitchen,
I was able to find new ways of cooking and dining.
