My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Bolivia | Sunday, June 30, 2013 | 5 photos

I've had a on/off love affair with photography ever since my uncle lent me his SLR when I was 18 years old. Since then I like to think that I've developed a good eye for a shot and I've taken some photos I'm very proud of but sadly I don't think my technical skills are up to scratch! I'm totally self taught so I've picked up a lot of bad habits!!! An over reliance on pre sets seems to have hindered my development and I rely on 'machine gunning' to get a decent shot and its takes me WAY too long to figure out what I'm doing. I hope that if I'm lucky enough to go to Greenland then I'm going to learn from one of the best and bring my photography to the next level. You probably wont believe this but I've NEVER once used photoshop. I don't even own a copy!! I'm proud to admit this but need to add it to my to do list of skills. I turned 30 last year and with that came the realisation that I hadn't been abroad in ten years.(excluding work) So I decided to make up for lost time and travelled solo to South America for two months. During my trip I spent 18 days volunteering at the most amazing place I've ever been. An animal sanctuary called Le Senda Verde. Hope you enjoy the photos. K.
