I went through six majors in college. Not that they were officially filed of course, but they were in my mind which was good enough: Anthropology, Journalism, English, Sociology, International Relations, Foreign Languages and Psychology. I would give anything to go back and tell a younger me to stop living to please others and focus on the one thing I really love; photography.

What kind of a major is photography though? "That's not a REAL career option," I hear my parents criticize. Of course then I ended up with psychology because I truly enjoyed the classes and I thought it sounded academic, but WHO majors in psychology? Especially if they have no plan to pursue it in graduate school.

I know what my passions are and I ache to apply them in my life. My current job is to sit at a desk and maybe dabble in graphics at best, but at worst to dream and google about professions that could have been until my soul feels the discouragement of 23 years of paths not taken. I want this opportunity so I can take that path I should have taken years ago, to prove there's more to me than my resume, and to further discover a skill I know I possess, a skill that is worth 1,000 words.
