What I never expected...

The first time I actually got to experience the wonders of Guatemala was when I was 15 years old. I visited different parts of Guatemala and I was absolutely amazed. I went to Antigua, Guatemala and I got to see a different side to where my father is from. Seeing the grand church and the street vendors gave me a sense of how the United States and Guatemala are different in many ways. You don't really see people know each other in the city but in the towns of Guatemala everyone knows each other. That is what astounded me the most.
Another place I got to experience was the capital. I got to see different street art and performers. I got to listen to the raps of the local talent, see the art of the rebellious teenagers, and smell the different local vendors' delicacies.
Overall, it was a magical experience for me mostly because whenever I go for vacation I always stay in one place. Actually going to different places was refreshing. It was truly a new adventure and experience for an old passage.
