Paris is said to be the city of love, the most romantic place on earth, but although it may rest in the collective unconsciousness as the run away place for lovers, in some aspects this world famous city holds the same sense of loneliness that you would find in any other European city. This series of images taken in Paris is created to portray some of these reclusive characters of city life.

My biggest ambition is to become a travel photographer. I am currently planning to do some travelling, in the hope of finding the opportunity to take photographs in some of the most beautiful and fascinating places on earth. Becoming a travel photographer seems to be a distant dream for most of us, and I can see that this competition is a fantastic opportunity to experience what it is like to be one.

I think I deserve to win this competition because I have the ambition and desire to put it to the best possible use. I am desperate to learn what it takes to be a travel photographer and to develop the skills needed to take both breath taking and educational images.
I am confident when photographing people as well as being patient and sensible enough to be able to learn how to capture wild life in its natural habitat.

I have been studying photography for the past few years in a fine art context. Although my studies have taught me to think about the reasons why I am taking a photograph, It’s taught me little about the technical side of photography. I believe that winning this competition would also be the perfect opportunity to learn more of these technical skills needed to become a travel photographer.
Winning this competion, realy would be a deam come true for me.
