My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Can you imagine a world where people forget to use their senses? For most people this is reality. And it was my reality until 7 years ago. I took to the woods to study survival skills, tracking & awareness. I learned how to make primitive fire and track mountain lions. I went on a survival trip. I knew I’d slowed down to nature’s pace when a bird landed on my knee. All these experiences have honed my senses & changed my life.
As a photographer landscapes & people reveal their secrets to me more readily when I use this new awareness. My experience in wild places & knack for connecting with people make me a uniquely suited candidate. My eyes are trained to see wildlife, my body for being outdoors & my mind for jumping between stillness & activity.
I am a storyteller. When the world gets really crazy artistic expression is the only thing that makes sense to me. Through this mentorship I hope to inspire people to connect to themselves & the world. I want to remind them that there’s more to life than the daily grind. It's my hope that by living fully I can inspire others to do the same. Thanks for considering me & I look forward to connecting.
